Mec Zilla
/ Founder + Chief Architect
A New York–based Creative Director with 20 years of experience, mec moved into web3 in late 2020, working closely with technical teams to build systems for community coordination. This work included developing onboarding curricula, community initiatives, and governance tools, leading to advisory roles with Gitcoin, Nike Virtual Studios, SYLVAIN, AfroTech, Converse/Jordan/Nike, SpringHill, and Superchief Gallery. A body of work inspired the creation of Liberatory Intelligence Laboratories, Co.
Today, as a Product Engineer and Systems Architect, Mec is pioneering Applied Liberatory Intelligence, a systems discipline focused on how intelligence, power, and coordination are encoded into platforms, protocols, and AI systems, and how those infrastructures can be deliberately redesigned to restore human agency, protect civil liberties, and resist extractive technocratic control. As a technologist building tools for underserved communities, she is developing fluency in code grounded in equity, durability, and real-world utility.

In partnership with The Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts, a trusted and community-anchored institution in Central Brooklyn, Liberatory Intelligence Laboratories, Co. is developing tools, publications, and programs that translate liberatory theory into real-world infrastructure. Together, this partnership advances applied research, public-facing publications, workshops, and AI-driven workforce pathways for low-income and underrepresented talent. The work directly addresses systemic barriers to economic mobility by establishing a community-rooted pipeline into the technology sector grounded in accountability, education, and long-term institutional trust.
